Chapter 1 ...6 years later...
“Holly Emily Johnson! Get your backside down here NOW!” Mum shouted at me from the bottom of the stairs. “What?!” I shouted back down at her. “Was it you that left the milk out of that damn fridge again?!” she asked me. “No, do I look that stupid?” I asked her. “Less of your damn lip! You’re getting a bit too big for your boots young lady!” She shouted at me. “Whatever!” I shouted back at her. She really was bugging me at this moment in time and I felt like I needed to get away for a bit so I decided I’d go visit my big sister Mia and my nephew Jamahl. I rang her house phone but it went straight to answer phone. My twin brother, Harvey, came into my room. “Why are you giving Mum grief AGAIN?!” he asked me. “Get out my room, you fool” I replied. “Don’t talk to me like that Holly, stop being so disrespectful” he replied. “GET OUT MY ROOM!” I shouted at him. “Okay then, I hope one day, touch wood it doesn’t happen, that something happens to Mum so you can see how damn ungrateful you are!” he said walking out my room. “Whatever, prick!” I shouted. Dad was away on a business trip so I couldn’t even cry on him. I began to cry in my room, tears flowing down my cheek like a waterfall. I decided to check if my Sister was on Facebook. However, she wasn’t so I decided to talk to my cousin Sharna instead who were best friends with my sister.

I felt even worse now. I walked over to my bed. I then sat there and thought for a split second before placing both of my hands over my neck and squeezing as hard as I could.
Chapter 2 ...Why?...
I heard the home phone ring. “SHE SAID WHAT?!” I heard Mum shout down the phone. I squeezed even harder. I wanted them to feel how I felt most of the time. I always felt so down and depressed but they never seemed to care. Mum came bursting through my bedroom door. “HOLLY STOP IT!” she shouted at me. I shook my head and squeezed even harder. Harvey came running into my room to see what was going on. “HOLLY MAN!” he said before pulling my hands off my neck. I refused to breathe and I could feel myself going dizzy. Harvey hit me in my stomach so I had to open my mouth for a gasp of air. “WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT?!” he shouted at me. I began to cry. “Harvey leave her alone” Mum shouted at him. “NEVER HAVE I KNOWN SOMEBODY TO BE SO SELFISH!” he shouted. I put my hands back around my neck and squeezed as hard as I could. They were both arguing too much for them to realize what I was doing. I closed my eyes and fell onto the floor with a thud. “HOLLY!” was the last thing I hear my Mum say.
...THE NEXT MORNING...
I opened my eyes and looked around the room. Was I in Heaven? The walls were white and the sun was shining in. I opened my eyes wider and a woman looked up. I realized this woman was a nurse. I looked to my left and Mum sat there half asleep in the hospital chair. She woke up and hugged me. “Don’t you EVER do that again!” she said to me crying into my hair. The next day I was allowed home. I walked upstairs and into my room. Someone who I was glad to see was sat on my bed. “Why?” the person asked me.
Chapter 3 ...I’ve missed you...
“Why do it babe?” My big sister, Mia, asked me. “I don’t know! Something just came over me” I replied. “Don’t EVER do it again you heard me!” she said. I began to cry and she hugged me. “I tried it babe, life gets better trust me babe” she said to me. I could feel a shocked expression come over my face. “You tried it?” I asked her. “Yeah, twice” she said to me. Mia was always so chirpy, happy and content. “So if I can make it through life then you can!” she said to me wiping away my tears with her jumper sleeve. I loved my big sister with all my heart as she always knew how to keep me happy and to cheer me up. “Anyway, I’ve got something that may cheer you up” she said to me. “What?” I asked her. “You can’t tell anyone though” she said. I loved secrets. “You’re going to be an Aunty again!” she said to me. I hugged her tightly. “Seriously?” I asked her. “Yeah but don’t tell anyone, the only people that know are you, Theo and Sharna” she said to me. I smiled at her. Her boyfriend was really nice and treated her right. “What year are you in again?” she asked me. “9, why?” I replied. “That year is just dumb, you want to come and stay at mine for a week? I can work from home?” she asked me. I nodded. “Let me go talk to Mum” she said walking out of my room. She appeared about 5 minutes later and gave me the thumbs up. I packed some clothes, shoes, trainers, jumpers and make up. I then went into the bathroom and got my toiletries. I put all of the stuff in my case and then I carried it downstairs and put it into Mia’s car. I then got my laptop and its charger and put it into its bag before walking downstairs, putting the satchel over my shoulder and went to say goodbye to Mum and Ellie. I then got into the passenger seat of my sisters car. Mia put her CD on which surprisingly had all the new music on it. We both waved goodbye to Mum and Ellie. Me and Mia sang along to some music whilst she sped down the motorway. We stopped at Morrisons’ on the way back to get some munchies in. “Get whatever you want” she said to me. My sister was a qualified Social Worker so she always had a lot of money. I walked down the aisle and put what I wanted into the trolley. She paid for the stuff and I put the stuff into the back of the car. As we pulled up outside hers, her next door neighbour was just coming in too.
Chapter 4 ...Romance...
They all talked weird compared to people back in Birmingham. My sister lost her accent a long time ago. Mia stood talking to the woman from next door. She looked about my sister’s age or maybe older. “Elliot! Come here!” the woman shouted through her front door. Mia smiled at me like she was up to something. I looked at her in a weird way. Elliot looked about my age. “Hello Elliot, this is my little sister Holly, Holly this is Elliot” Mia said. I smiled at him. “Alright?” he asked me. “Yeah thanks, you?” I said. “Good, yeah fine thanks and you’ve got a cute accent” he said smiling at me. I smiled back at him. We didn’t even notice when his Mum and Mia went into their separate houses. We got talking about how we’d met. “Adults think they’re so smart don’t they!” he said to me. I nodded and laughed. “You got Facebook?” he asked me. I nodded. “Holly Johnson” I said to him smiling. “Don’t turn round but we’re being watched” he said to me. “By my sister?” I asked. He nodded. “Yeah, is my Mum at the top window” he asked. “Yeah” I said. “Want to give them something to watch?” he said. He had the same rebellious streak as I did. I nodded. He ran back onto his front garden and then jumped the hedge. “What are you doing?” I asked him. “Come here” he said. He put his arms around me and I felt so safe. “Follow as I do okay” he whispered in my ear. I nodded. He tucked my long hair around the back of my ear and kissed me. I kissed him back. “Talk on Facebook yeah, nice meeting you Brummie!” he said smiling at me. I smiled back at him. “See you around” I said to him. I walked back inside and my sister came running down the stairs. “FILL ME IN NOW!” she said to me. “I kissed him” I said to her. “I could bloody well see that!” she said to me. I was smiling for once. “Somebody’s pulled!” she said to me. I smiled at her. I then plugged my laptop into the wall near the armchair and logged onto Facebook. I felt myself smile as I had one friend request. I accepted it. “Yes bumting ;)” Elliot said to me via Facebook chat. “Hey tehe” I replied back to him. We spoke most of the night. After a while I decided to get ready for bed. I then moved my laptop to the spare room where my sister had unpacked all my things for me and made the bed up. It got to about 3am when I heard someone moving about. “I’ll be there as soon as I can” Mia said into her phone.
Chapter 5 ...Physco freak...
I woke up the next morning and went downstairs. “Where’s my sister?” I asked my sister’s boyfriend Theo. “I know as much as you do” he said to me. I never really spoke to Theo last night so we decided to get to know each other a little better. I told him about my little stint in hospital. “Don’t cry” he said to me. I couldn’t help it though, tears started to flow down my cheeks. He came over and hugged me. “Listen squirt! Your sister loves you very much and so do me and Jamahl! Promise me you won’t do it again?” he asked me. I nodded. It was a Monday so Jamahl was already at school. I rang Mia’s phone to see where she was as I was beginning to get worried about her. “Holly, I’m okay babe! Put Theo on though please sweetheart and I’ll see you later” she said to me reassuringly. “Alright.....THEO!” I shouted. He came back into the living room and I passed the phone to him before going into the kitchen to make some toast. “What?! Is she okay?!......I will mash him up you done know I will baby girl....Alright see you in a bit babe” Theo said into the phone. “What’s happened?” I asked him. “Nothing, but Alisha’s going to be spending a few days with us” he said to me. I nodded. “Are you going to be okay....actually go and get a jumper on and get in the car after you’ve finished that” Theo said to me. I finished my toast and went upstairs to do as I was told. I put on a grey boyfriend jumper dress with a black belt on and my black boots. I then went to wait in the car for Theo and after 5 minutes he got in the driver’s seat of his car and started the engine up. He drove to a house and pulled up outside. “Wait here” he said to me. I nodded. Moments later and Theo came back with a little girl in his arms. She looked about 7 and when I realized it was my cousin Sharna’s daughter, Alisha. We went back to Mia’s to find a guy standing outside the front door shouting curse words up to the window. “Stay here!” he said to both of us getting out and offering the mystery man out. Alisha started crying. “What’s the matter Alisha?” I asked her a worried expression on my face. “He’s the guy that hurt my Mummy!” she said to me.
Chapter 6 ...Die dickhead die...
I watched Theo fight the guy. He was winning until the guy somehow got on top of him. I decided to be brave and help him. I took the belt from around my waist off and got out the car. I then crept up behind the guy and put the belt around his neck. I pulled him off Theo. “GET OFF ME YOU LITTLE BITCH!” he shouted at me. He was twice my size and got me onto the floor. He was just about to hit me when I heard someone shout “TOUCH HER AND I WILL KILL YOU! YA PRICK!” I looked up to find Elliot there ready to fight him. Theo got up and pounced on the guy. He kicked him, punched him and anything else he could think off to hurt him. Elliot helped me up off the floor. Apparently he got sent home for wearing the incorrect uniform and it was just as well if you ask me. I hugged him whilst Theo rang the police. They came and took the man away in an ambulance. Theo then went into the car and got Alisha. She had been crying the whole time and her eyes were red. “I want my Mummy!” she screamed. “There’s a park round here, that might cheer her up?” Elliot said to me. I looked at Theo. “No sex, no getting intimate and no thinking about sex” Theo said to me. I felt like punching him. I was only 14 and I wouldn’t 1. Lose my virginity so soon and 2. Lose it on a park bench. “Give me an hour and a half to get ready alright” I said to Elliot. “Okay” he replied. I got myself ready and Theo helped Alisha get ready. It was still kind of cold so I put on my black skinny jeans, with a white long top on. I then found my black body warmer and my white and black boots. Alisha had a similar thing to me on with the acceptation that she had a purple body warmer and black jeans with purple rhinestones on. She had her brown curly hair out with her Hannah Montana headband on. I sorted my face out whilst Theo gave Alisha some lunch. I then tied a white shoe lace in my hair in a shape of a bow. I went downstairs and Theo gave me £20. “What’s that for?” I asked him. “In case you or Alisha or Elliot wanted anything on the way or from park init” he said. I smiled at him, then I took Alisha by the hand and went round for Elliot and he looked fly as hell. He wore a black Nike jumper with matching black tracksuit bottoms on and some black Nike trainers. He then topped off his outfit with a black hat on and black and white gloves. We went to the park stopping off on the way. Elliot brought me and Alisha some munchies. He said we both needed a treat. I loved the way he made me feel.
Chapter 7 ...Fairytale gone wrong...
I chased Alisha around the park and she squealed in enjoyment. Elliot held my hand as we watched Alisha play. She looked so happy. Three boys came approached us. Elliot let go off my hand like he was ashamed of me or something. “Yes Elliot! Who’s this then?” he got asked. “The girl from next door” he replied. “Pretty boomie ain’t she” another one of them said looking at me. To say I was only 14, I could have easily passed for an older person. I looked at him and he didn’t even look at me back but I knew he could feel me looking at him. I wanted to cry right there on the spot but I didn’t want to show him I was weak. They left after 10 more minutes of looking at me and Elliot making me feel like I was nothing. “I’m sorry” he said to me. “Yeah, you are” I said to him. We walked back, without exchanging a single word. “Alisha go inside sweetheart” I said to her. She did as she was told and I waited until the front door was closed before I started shouting at Elliot. “I THOUGHT YOU WERE DIFFERENT! YOU’RE JUST LIKE THE REST! WHAT IS IT ABOUT ME THAT AUTOMATICALLY MAKES PEOPLE FEEL SO ASHAMED OF ME?! ABOUT THE GIRL NEXT DOOR! ELLIOT YOU’RE SOMETHING ELSE!” I shouted at him. Mia pulled up and got out her car. “What’s going off?” she asked us looking half asleep. I looked at Elliot. “I did it to protect you! The last girlfriend I had they did stuff to her!” he blurted out. “What?” I asked him. “They raped her then denied it but she wouldn’t lie to me” he said. Mia stood there gobsmacked as I just stood there and cried. Elliot ran back around the hedge and hugged me. Mia went inside after a while and I listened as Elliot told me about his ex girlfriend. “They raped her and then denied it, that’s why I didn’t want them knowing, they don’t like me” he said to me. I looked at him. “What happened to her?” I asked him. “She committed suicide because she couldn’t live with it, plus they said if she told anyone they’d kill her anyway” he said. “That’s why I denied it, not to hurt you but protect you because I care about you Holly and I think I like you” I saw a stray tear flow down his cheek. I used my sleeve to wipe it away. I locked eyes with him and we kissed passionately.
Chapter 8 ...Wife-beater...
I went back inside after we’d both stopped crying. Mia was upstairs getting a bath and a fresh change of clothing on. I played with Alisha and Theo on the Wii and Alisha was winning. After a while Mia came back downstairs and got her car keys. “Where you going?” Theo asked her. “To get Jamahl from school” she said. “I’ll go, you need to sleep” he replied. “Alright, thanks babe” she said kissing him. I sat at my laptop whilst Mia was in the kitchen. “Holly come here a second please darling” she said to me. I walked into the kitchen to find her sat at the kitchen table. “Sit down for this please, I need to tell you something” she said. I sat down. “What is it Mia?” I asked her. “I’m telling you this because you’re not a little girl anymore and Sharna wanted you to know what was going on and not to worry about her” she said to me. “What’s up with Sharna” I asked her. “She’s in hospital but she’ll be out soon” she replied. “Why? Was it something to do with that guy who came round here earlier?” I asked her and she nodded her head twice. Mia told me what had gone down last night. Sharna and her boyfriend were arguing and it got a bit heated. He then hit her so hard she fell but they were arguing on the landing and she fell down the stairs. “I knew he wasn’t kosher” she said to me. I sat there trying to absorb what was going on. She then began crying. “Why are you crying if she’s alright.....Mia what are you not telling me?” I asked her. “It’s not my place to say” she replied through her tears. “We’ll wait until Jamahl and Theo get back then we’ll go see her alright?” she said to me. I nodded. We both went back into the living room to find Alisha on the sofa watching Dora the Explorer. Mia went and picked her up. “ROARRRRRR!” she said to Alisha. Alisha started laughing. “Stop it!” she replied to my sister. Mia began tickling her. “MIAAAA! STOP IT!” she said through the laughing. I loved my big sister quite a lot. The sun had come out so she opened the back door and let Alisha on the trampoline in her back garden. “Me and you need to talk anyway babe! Harvey’s only looking out for you” she said to me taking my hand and walking me over to the patio set. She sat down on one chair and I sat down next to her on another one. “He’s not! He’s always there shouting at me, I hate him” I replied. “That’s what their job is, but Mia trust me! I’d do ANYTHING in this whole wide world to get mine back” she said a tear in her eye. It had been 6 years since Tysharn died but still Mia was cut up about it and blamed herself. Even though I was only 8 when he died I still have memories of him, like the time I spilt Ribena on his sofa and the Sunday afternoons when me, Tysharn, Harvey and Mia used to have our little get together in either mine and Harvey’s room or Mia’s room. We’d watch DVDs all day and eat nothing but rubbish. Then Mum would come upstairs and tell us how cute we looked and Tysharn would always remind Mum of how old he was which then only reminded Mum of how old she was. I wanted those days back so bad and I know Mia did too. “Alright, I’ll be nice to him” I said to her. “Good girl, and if he gives you grief just ring me and I’ll talk to him okay!” she replied back at me now smiling. I smiled back and went to join Alisha on the trampoline. I held her hands and we jumped as high as we could. Mia started on the dinner whilst I played with Holly and when Jamahl got back he got changed out of his school clothes and into some casual clothes to join us. After we’d had dinner, Mia took me to the hospital to see Sharna as Theo said he’d look after Alisha and Jamahl who were now bathed and into their pyjamas and watching a film with Theo.
Chapter 9 ...Curious...
I walked into the room where Sharna lay. She had a cut lip and a black eye but she still smiled when she saw me. “Yes little cousin! Long time no see!” she said to me. I began to cry. “What’s up?” she asked me. “I don’t like seeing you like this! I beat the guy up with Theo though” I replied back to Sharna. “Did you? What happened?” Sharna asked me. “We came back from getting Alisha and he was standing there outside Mia’s and so Theo told us to wait in the car but then the guy picked up a brick and was going to hit Theo with it so I got my belt off and put it around the guys neck and dragged him off Theo but then he was about to hit me and Elliot warned him not to so then Theo jumped back on top of the guy and Elliot helped me back up” I told them both. “WOW. You’re definitely related to me!” Mia said. My sister was and for as long as I can remember had been a mad but good fighter. “Shut up, when we were younger, who was the one who taught you how to hold it down?” Sharna asked Mia. “You did! Actually no I taught myself, when those girls were trying it with you and I ragged her sister off you” my sister said. Sharna laughed. “Those were the days!” Sharna said. Mia nodded in agreement. After Mia had nipped out to go to the hospital shop, I decided to ask Sharna what was up, but by my facial expression she could tell what was up. “If I tell you, do you promise not to tell anybody Holly?” she asked me. I nodded. “I promise” I replied. “I’m pregnant, but they said I could lose it at any time, the next 24 hours are vital” she said to me. I looked at her in disbelief as tears started to fall down her cheek. She then got hysterical. I got up to hug her. Mia came back and sorted Sharna out. After that, we set off back to Mia’s. I spent the next three days with Elliot. He’d not long left so I decided to go to bed. I woke up the next morning to find something quite peculiar.
Chapter 10 ...History repeating itself...
I’d woken up and gotten my dressing gown on. I then took my laptop downstairs to find Mia sat at the kitchen table. “Where’s Jamahl?” I asked her. “In bed, he said he feels ill! Don’t know what he’s trying to get out of!” she replied whilst making me some toast and juice whilst I logged into my Facebook. “One new inbox” I thought to myself. “B. Meet me on the park at 11. I’ll cum n meet u 1 x” the message read. “What are you grinning at young lady?” Mia asked me. “Oh, nothing” I replied. I got myself ready. I went in the shower and picked out an outfit. I put on my black and white floral dress with black tights and my black and white plimsolls on. I then found my white had and cardigan and went out. Questions started to arise in my mind. Why didn’t he just tell me to meet him outside his? Why was he talking like that? I guessed he was just being a strange boy as he was. I walked to the park and decided to ring Elliot to see where he was. “What are you talking about?” he asked me. “That inbox” I replied. “I never sent any inboxes, Holly, I’m at school so how could I send them?” he asked me. “Who sent them then?” I asked. “HOLLY! LEAVE NOW! It’s them pricks! I’ll leave now okay, I’ll climb over if I have to” he said. I began to walk out of the park. Two guys were walking into the park who looked like two of them from before. I turned around and decided to walk the other way. I looked up and there were 3 coming from the other side. I rang Theo and his phone went straight to answer phone. “OI BOOMTING!” one of them shouted. I turned round. “I’m going back to my sisters” I said. “What, so can man get a little quickie yeah?” he asked me. “FUCK OFF!” I shouted at him. Two of his man pinned me down at a time while each of them had their turns with me. I lay there and cried. It hurt badly. After joking to Theo about losing my virginity on a park bench, that’s just where I was losing it but in the desolate part of the park. I wanted to scream in their faces but I was outnumbered. I wanted Mia or Elliot because with them I felt safe. “You tell anybody about this and we will kill you and we know where your sister lives too, wouldn’t want nothing to happen to her now would we?” one of them said. I nodded whilst crying. “Don’t hurt her!” I said to them. “We won’t just keep your mouth shut init” they said. They all got off. I just lay there on the cold grass on the deserted park and cried.
Chapter 11 ...Soldier...
“HOLLY?!” I heard someone shout. I didn’t even care. Elliot came running over to me. I just stared into the sky without even blinking like I was in a trance almost. He helped me up and I pulled my tights and knickers back up. “Did they do this to you?!” he asked me. I nodded. He held me as I cried. “I wasn’t meant to tell you” I said to him. “He won’t hurt you or your family and I’ll make sure of it!” he said to me. He walked me back to Mia’s. He knocked on the door and Theo came to the door. He took one look at me and pinned Elliot up again the wall. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?!” he shouted. “Nothing, it wasn’t me! I found her like this!” he said. “Holly is he telling is the truth?” he asked me. I nodded. “What happened?” he asked me. I heard Mia’s voice. I ran up to her and hugged her. She hugged me back. “I’LL KILL THEM! WHERE ARE THEY NOW ELLIOT?!” I heard Theo shout. I’d gathered that Elliot must have told Theo what happened. “What’s happened?” Mia asked Theo. He didn’t say a word as he started looking for something. “I’m talking to you!” Mia said to him. He just looked at her not even a word or any emotion on his face. “Don’t ignore me you prick” Mia said to him in a stern tone of voice. “To sort this mess out!” Theo finally shouted. “What are you looking for?” she asked as Theo continued slamming the cupboards and drawers. “STOP WITH ALL THE QUESTIONS! MY CAR KEYS!” he shouted back getting angry at my sister. “Who you talking to like that though really Theo?!” she responded. The argument was getting heated and I just stood there in-between it all. I cried and Elliot came and hugged me. “HOW DARE YOU EVEN SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!” Mia shouted at him. “YOU KNOW SOMETIMES I SWEAR MIA! I SWEAR!” he shouted back in her face. I saw the rage build up in her eyes and with that she slapped him hard across his face. He raised his fist to hit her but then stopped himself. Jamahl who had now been awoken stood there looking at what was going on. “DON’T YOU HIT MY MUMMY!” he shouted standing in front of Mia trying to protect her. “GO ON DO IT THEN IF YOU’RE BAD ENOUGH THEO, DO IT!” Mia shouted at him. Theo looked around the room and tension could have been cut with a knife. He then found his car keys and walked to the front door. “Sorry Mia but they’re not getting away with this” he said walking back to my sister and kissing her. She moved her head so he couldn’t kiss her and gave him one of those looks that shows she wasn’t angry at him just hurt. “Look after her for me” he said to me. I nodded and with that he walked out the front door.
Chapter 12 ...Life’s not easy...
“Elliot can you take care of Jamahl and Alisha please whilst I talk to Holly in private” Mia said to Elliot. He nodded and took them upstairs. Mia sat down at her kitchen table. “What happened?” Mia asked me. I sat down on the other chair. I began to cry. “Holly, tell me, I won’t tell Mum, I promise!” she said to me hugging me. I just cried into her hair. I wanted Mum so bad and I finally realized how much I’d hurt her the past few days. I looked at Mia and told her everything and how they said they’d hurt her if I told anyone. “They’re little kids! I’m a grown woman! They can’t do me anything” she said. She hugged me tightly as I cried into her hair even more. I felt safe when I was with Mia because I knew she wouldn’t let any harm come my way. Mia decided to ring Mum and tell her to come to Mia’s because I needed her. Within an hour Mum was there at the front door with Harvey and Ellie. “What’s happened Holly?” she asked once Ellie was out of earshot. I told her everything. “WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEY NOW?!” Harvey screamed. “Calm down” Mia said to Harvey. “NO MIA! YOU CAN JUST STAND THERE AND NOT DO ANYTHING BUT I WON’T LET THEM HURT MY LITTLE SISTER! EVEN IF I AM 5 MINUTES OLDER THAN HER!” he shouted. “What are you talking about you foolish boy?! About doing nothing! I can’t do anything because I have my reasons” she shouted back at Harvey who was now pacing up and down the living room like a mad man. “EXCUSES EXCUSES! I’m not you because I don’t run away from my problems!” he shouted at her. He looked like he was about to hit her. “STOP IT HARVEY!” I shouted at him. “No! She wants to make excuses up then let her” he shouted. I looked at Mia and her fists were shaking. “YOU KNOW I ALMOST DIED BECAUSE OF YOU HARVEY! REMEMBER?! I SAVED YOUR SORRY ASS AND YOU’RE TELLING ME ABOUT I MAKE UP EXCUSES!” she shouted back. Mum tried calming things down but it wasn’t working. The argument got to the point where Mia was screaming at Harvey. “CARRY ON SHOUTING AT ME THEN IF YOU’RE SUCH A BIG WOMAN!” he shouted at her. “You know something! I’m leaving this! I’m not going to argue with my soon to be 15 year old LITTLE BROTHER when I’m 26! NOW! Calm down!” Mia shouted at him walking out of the room. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, Harvey had just been defeated by his older sister. I sat down on the sofa and Elliot came downstairs. “Is everything okay? I heard shouting” he said looking concerned. “Yeah, fine thanks Elliot, forgot you was here!” Mia said to him. Mum looked confused. “Mum this is Elliot, Mia’s friend, Elliot this is my Mum Tyla” Mia said walking into the kitchen. “Hello nice to meet you Elliot” Mum said to Elliot. “Nice to meet you Mrs Johnson” Elliot said smiling. Mia walked into the kitchen and left Mum and Elliot to talk. I heard a glass smash and ran into the kitchen. There was a broken glass on the floor orange juice surrounding it. Mia had her right hand on the fridge handle squeezing onto it and the left on her stomach. “ARGHHH!” Mia squealed in agony whilst clutching her stomach. “Mia, what’s wrong darling?” Mum asked Mia. “Mum I think I’m having a miscarriage” she told Mum. “WHAT?! Since when were you pregnant Mia?!” she asked her. “Mum never mind that just get me to the hospital, it hurts way too much” Mia said beginning to cry.
Chapter 13 ...Things are not what they seem...
Harvey sat there on the sofa crying. “It’s my entire fault!” he shouted when I tried to hug him. Mum and Mia left for the hospital 2 hours ago and we’d not heard anything since. Dad arrived at Mia’s and I cried on him however, as soon as he caught sight of Harvey he started going crazy at him. “YOU CAN’T HALF BE A FOOL HARVEY!” Dad shouted at him. “Dad I’m sorry! I didn’t even know!” Harvey shouted back. Elliot tried to calm things down. “Who are you?” Dad shouted. “Elliot, the guy from next door” Elliot replied in a calm and polite manner. I looked at Dad. I wanted to tell him what had happened to me but I know that would have only made things worse, much worse. I heard the door swing open and Theo walked through it. Dad had never met Theo properly and this was not the proper way to meet. Theo looked at Dad and Dad’s eyes were fixed on the baseball bat covered in blood in Theo’s hand. “WHAT THE BUMBA IS GOING ON HERE?!” Dad shouted. “Who are....wait where’s Mia?” Theo asked Dad. “At the hospital” Dad replied. “What’s happened?” Theo said looking alarmed. “I could ask you the same question, whose blood is that on the bat?” Dad asked Theo. Theo looked at me and I looked at him. “Have you not told him Holly?” Theo asked me. I shook my head and began to cry. “Told me what Holly? Who’s upset you?” Dad asked me. Harvey told Dad everything. “That’s where I was coming from Mr Johnson, I couldn’t let them get away with it, Holly’s like the little sister I never had!” Theo said to Dad. Dad stood there trying to make sense of it all. I looked at Dad and he looked at me. He opened up his arms for a hug. I cried into his chest. I loved my Daddy with all my heart, I always was a Daddy’s girl. I looked at Harvey and he looked back at me. The phone rang and it was good news as Mia and my unborn niece or nephew was fine but she had to stay in overnight. That night and I couldn’t sleep so I decided to go on MSN for a bit. My best friend, Shanice popped up on my screen.

I locked off the laptop and went to bed after a phone call from my bestest.
Chapter 14 ...2 months later...
“Where are you! Pisstake! Dickhead fool xxx” I read the text from my bestest. I decided to ring her before she started swinging for me when I got to the destination. She was stood at the usual meeting point with a zoot in her mouth about to spark it. “ABOUT TIME!” she said blowing out the smoke. “You want twos?” she asked. “No thanks” I replied. “PARDONNNN?!” Shanice said looking all shocked at me for rejecting weed for the first time in I don’t know how long. “What?” I asked her. “You just said no to weed, you’re the biggest weed fiend since 50 Cent” she said blowing out more smoke. “Shut up before I do you some damage” I said to her. “I’m sure” she replied. We decided to go on the park for a bit and some guys approached us. I began to cry as memories came flooding back. “What’s up?” Shanice asked me. “Nothing” I replied. “Tell me man! I’m your bestest after all” she said to me. “I might be high but I can still know when my best friends upset” she said to me smiling with her eyes looking like she was Chinese. “Come, lets go sit over there and we can go talk, llow the man they’re raw anyway make them holla at my backfoot” Shanice said. I laughed through the tears because I really did love my best friend. She sat down on the grass and I sat down next to her. I told her everything about what happened whilst I was at Mia’s, including losing my virginity on a park. “PARDONNNNNNNNN?! PARDONNNNNNNNN?!” she shouted getting angry. “I’LL KILL A GUY!” she started screaming. She could turn from calm to physco in 0.57 seconds. “Holly wait, he didn’t use anything, wait is there something you’re not telling me?” Shanice asked me. I looked at her. “I’m going clinic tomorrow, come with me please” I said to her. “Obviously” she replied. Mum said Shanice could sleep round ours and we spent the whole night ramping as per usual. I loved my best friend because she actually did care about me unlike most of my friends. The next morning we got ready and went to go to the clinic. “Where are you going?” Mum asked. “To my Grandma’s” Shanice lied. I told Mum I’d had a period as I didn’t want her worrying about me. She gave me some money and then I was asked to fill out some forms and then I underwent some tests. They told me to come back in 2 days for the results. I got back home and I couldn’t believe who was sat on my sofa.
Chapter 15 ...You never forget your first...
“About time you came home young lady! I’ve had this one here for a good 2 hours!” Mum said. Elliot smiled at me and gave me a hug. Shanice looked him up and down like she does. “Who are you then?” she asked him. “Elliot, you?” he said. “Shanice” she said keeping it casual. We decided to go out for a bit. Elliot held my hand as we walked down the road. Elliot stopped at the shop on the way. Three guys approached us and as they got closer I realized who they were. Three guys in my year group walked up to us. They looked Elliot up and down. “Never realized you were so boomie” they said to me. I began to cry as memories started coming back. “LEAVE HER ALONE!” Elliot said running out the shop door. “WHO ARE YOU?!” one of them shouted. Elliot pounced on him. Shanice then helped fight them both. I couldn’t even get involved because there was no way I’d get into a fight if there was a possibility I could be pregnant. I’m not that selfish. After about 2 minutes of fighting, Elliot and Shanice came off victorious which wasn’t very surprising. Elliot gave me and Shanice our stuff which he brought from the shop and we decided to walk back to mine the long way round so Shanice and Elliot could get to know each other a bit better. I held Elliot’s hand as we walked down the road with me in-between them both. A black car sped round the corner. “People these days man, so hyped up” Shanice said. “Too right!” Elliot replied. I saw a black object being pointed out of the window. I pulled them both down. BANG! I heard several times. I looked down at my top and there was blood all over it.
